We acknowledge that the practice of Maple Ridge RMT Jennifer Slauenwhite operates on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Katzie (q̓ic̓əy̓) “Land of Moss” and Kwantlen (qʼʷa:n̓ƛʼən̓) “Tireless Runner” First Nations. As part of the Coast Salish peoples, these Nations have been stewards of the land, historically known in Halkomelem (hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓) “Downriver Halkomelemas” Z’wa? acstan “Place Where The Golden Eagles Are”, since time immemorial. We are grateful to have the opportunity to gather, work, and learn on this land.

I’m a Registered Massage Therapist in Maple Ridge with over 20 years of clinical experience helping people recover from injury, manage pain, and develop practical, sustainable self-care and rehabilitation strategies. I graduated from the 3000-hour program at West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2006 and hold a Bachelor of Health Science. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked with a broad range of presentations including orthopaedic and musculoskeletal injuries, sports-related injuries, persistent and recurrent pain, complex neuromusculoskeletal conditions, concussion support, neurological conditions, post-surgical recovery, and rehabilitation-focused care. My clinical approach is evidence-based, pain science informed, and grounded in contemporary rehabilitation principles. Treatment is individualized, assessment-driven, and focused on improving function, movement, symptom management, and quality of life at a realistic, sustainable pace. I work with people navigating everything from new injuries and rehab plateaus to persistent symptoms, recurring flare-ups, and presentations that don’t always fit neatly into a box. In addition to clinical practice, I’ve contributed to the profession through education, regulation, mentorship, and healthcare advocacy, including serving on the board of the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia and teaching at West Coast College of Massage Therapy. Outside the clinic, I enjoy dog training and animal behaviour, competitive obedience with my poodle Apollo, gardening, trail running, and all things Middle Earth.
